LBC KidsAt Lakeview we believe our children are one of God's greatest gifts to the world and there is no greater repsonsibility than that of showing the love of Christ to the children of our community. The purpose of our children's ministry is to demonstrate this love of Chirst not through programs but by meaningful relationships that develop Active Christian Children Fit 4 Life with a Heart 4 God, a Mind 4 Christ, a Body 4 Service and a Soul 4 Eternity.
HEART for God It's all about Heart! Our first desire for our Children is to show them how God has created them for a love relationship and how to enjoy this relationship in every aspect of their lives. It's all about the heart and the One who fills it. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 NIV To know God is the soul purpose of worship. MIND for Christ Our second desire is to teach our children how to maximize their purpose and develop strong spiritual growth that continues throughout their lives. By studying the history of God's relationship with His people and through the life example of Jesus Christ, our children will be transformed according to God's standards and not the world's. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God - what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 NRSV To follow Christ is the true act of discipleship. BODY for Service Our third desire for our children is to help them develop strong bodies for proper fellowship and service to others according to God's purpose on earth. In addition to God creating us for a relationship with Him through Christ. He has also created us for a relationship with others. People are our greatest investments and love for each other is the evidence of our love for God. And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as youself'.....We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us - and we ought to lay down our lives for one another. Matthew 22:39, 1 John 3:16 NRSV SOUL for Eternity Our last and greatest desire is to lead our children to accept God's purpose for eternity. We will teach our children how Jesus demonstrates God's love for them and provides the way for them to have eternal life in Christ. It is also our desire that the children will likewise share this wonderful plan with their own family and friends. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who belives in Him may not perish but may have eternal life...And this is eternal life that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
